We ROCKED our Science MCAS! Officially done for the year!
Check out or AMAZING Vertebrate projects! Building a vertebrate, exposing its backbone and then showing a producer, composer and a decomposer in their ecosystem. We also showed one of the food chains our animal was in! Great creativity by all!

Let's explore Animal Adaptations we took our time in different centers that helped us answer these questions: How do different beaks allow birds to pick up different kinds of food? How do footprints tell us more about animals? Which animals hibernate and which migrate? How do predators and preys impact habitats? Lots of great scientific work going on!
Math Centers to review all we have learned! We practiced order of operations, volume, multiples, equivalent fractions, decimals etc.. We are ready to crush the MCAS!

Thank you all for my gift certificate to Teachers Rule at Christmas time.. I was finally able to get there yesterday and bought some new math games! The kids LOVE them! We tried them out today! A favorite already is a game called SET, but 24 and Math Noodlers was tons of fun too!!

Taking our morning message to the next level - looking at our thoughts about the SuperBowl and then working together to graph our estimates of points to be scored by each team! Students worked together to organize the data and create a bar graph for each team and then together as a class we created a double bar graph so we could analyze some of the differences. We can't wait to see the final results and how they will compare to our estimates! GO PATS!
Thank you Mrs. Kaufman and Mrs. Otero for sharing your love of reading with us as well! Diary of a Wimpy Kid is a favorite series for many in our classroom, kids loved hearing a part of this one and predicting what might happen next! And Mrs. Otero you had us all on the edge of our seats with The War I Finally Won and we loved your other choices too - especially the Patriots book! GO PATS!
